Plastic Waste Production Set to Rise Globally

Date: 4th May 2022 Fabrication

Industry experts have forecast that the increasing usage of plastic bags and packaging in developing countries will result in significant rises in the amount of waste plastic being produced. This is according to new research carried out by Advanced Market Analytics.

The reasons for this are being attributed to the economic growth witnessed in certain developing economies, in addition to significant increases in hygiene awareness on the back of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These rises in waste production will naturally place a greater importance on the need for recycling to be encouraged, with changes required in the behaviours in some cultures where awareness of global warming and the issues causing it are less established.

In the UK, LDPE is the plastic most commonly used by manufacturers; accounting for 19.3% of all plastics used. Although these plastics disintegrate at a faster rate than other forms, it is still imperative to put in place appropriate measures to encourage consumers to recycle such materials and promote the adoption of a circular economy approach in industry.

Here at Centriforce, we are proud to have been one of the innovators in our industry when it comes to the usage of waste plastics. For over 40 years, we have been one of the few companies who source waste plastics and turn them into complete products which continue to be recyclable after their use.

We undertake a well-established and advanced LDPE recycling process here at our Liverpool based granular extrusion plant which first cleans and sorts the materials, before grinding down the plastics ready to be fed into our granular extrusion machine.

The end result is a range of top quality recycled plastic products which are created with the intention of providing strong and dependable materials for customers in a wide range of industries.

Our product range sits under four distinct brands; each of which offer dependable materials which can be utilised in industries such as agriculture, fabrication and landscaping.
