Prestige Place Stables uses Stokbord Sheet for stables and exercise area

Client: Marco Botti Racing Location: Newmarket Agriculture & Equestrian

Stokbord® recycled plastic sheet has been specified for a prestigious racing stables.

Prestige Place Stables, a newly constructed, prestigious race horse training facility in Newmarket has utilised Stokbord recycled plastic sheet to line over 100 state-of-the art horse boxes at the stables.

Owned by Marco Botti Racing, the stables are now home to 100 racing thoroughbreds from owners in the UK, Europe and further afield.

Marco Botti started training in Newmarket in 2006 following a successful career as a jockey in Italy. He has, however, always had racing in his blood – his father, Alduino Botti ,and his uncle, Guiseppe Botti, train under the name ‘Dioscuri’ and have an enviable history as race horse trainers in Italy.

Marco has now brought the Botti legend to the UK and has built his own reputation as a trainer. He secured his first top level winner in 2009, and further success followed.  As a result, he now trains over 100 horses for a growing band of owners from the UK and overseas.  Prestige Place Stables is a brand new, tailor-made facility and is the brainchild of Marco’s wife, herself a jockey. It possesses facilities that rival any of the country’s major yards and is perfectly positioned for direct access to some of the world’s best training grounds.

The yard contains 100 individually designed, spacious and well-aired horse boxes arranged in the traditional courtyard style. Prestige Place Stables also boasts a treadmill, equine swimming pool, undercover ride and horse walkers.

Prestige Place Stables utilise Stokbord recycled plastic sheet extensively throughout the facilities. It has been used to line each box and the material gives a light, airy feel to each unit but is very tough and durable. It also has the benefit of being very easy to clean down and is resistant to most detergents and cleaning fluids.

Stokbord was specified after extensive testing by the contractor, C.J. Hays Ltd, in consultation with the owner. Amongst the tests was an impact test with a sledge hammer – to simulate the effect of a horse kicking the material. Stokbord came through all the tests successfully.

Commenting on his new yard, Mr Botti said: “We’re extremely happy with our new yard and hopefully, we’ll train a lot of winners here.”
