TermDefinition
Circular economyA circular economy is a process aimed to minimise waste through production, maximising the usability of a material and reducing overall waste as a result.

By designing the usage of waste to extend its useful life, Centriforce engages in circular economy practices. We are one of the industry leading companies that use recycled plastic materials, reprocess these into our materials and products which at the end of their own useful life can be reprocessed again into the usage cycle.

Through our operation, we aim to keep as much material as possible within the cycle to reduce waste production – while promoting circular economy practices.
Post-consumer materialsRecovered materials collected from consumers or the home
RecyclableProducts or materials that can be collected and reprocessed as raw materials in the manufacture of new products
Waste reductionAn important process which will result in the generation of less waste and/or the product use of materials which would otherwise be added to the waste stream.
ENATS 12-23 UK DNO's and electricity utilities have generally adopted Energy Network Association Technical Specification ENA-TS 12-23 to document their technical requirements for cable protection tiles, protection tape and warning tape used to protect MV HV cables operating at 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and up to 132kV.
EN12613Applied to warning tape and mesh, EN12613 is a standard set by BSI specifying requirements for plastic underground cable and pipeline protection devices.

This specification sets out the dimension, tensile strength, material and visual characteristic requirements for each device when protecting buried utility services.
ExtrusionExtrusion is a process through which a base material, in our case recycled plastic, is melted and shaped into a continuous sheet, profile or mesh, and cut to the desired length.

Our extrusion process allows for a range of dimensions and surface finishes within the Centriforce recycled plastics product range.
HDPEHigh-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a strong plastic resin commonly used to make bottles and detergent containers. Standard Code for HDPE is ‘2’
LDPELow-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a plastic resin commonly used in shopping bags, shrink wrapping and packaging films. Standard code is “4”.
National Grid TS 3.05.07National Grid TS 3.05.07 is part of a suite of documents defining National Grid’s requirements for new plants. TS 3.05.07 is a Level 3 Specification giving requirements for the installation of power cables (usually 132kV and above), their accessories and associated auxiliary cables.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)A plastic resin commonly used to make soft drink bottles and other food packaging e.g. trays. Standard code “1”
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)Plastic material used to construct piping, food and cosmetic containers. Standard code is “3”.
Polypropylene (PP)Plastic resin that find many everyday applications including tubs, lids and components. Standard code is “5”
Polystyrene (PS)Polystyrene is typically used for toys, CD cases, vending cups, hard packing and packaging. Standard code is “6”
