River Colne

Location: Huddersfield

The footpath along the River Colne in Huddersfield needed to be constructed using a raised boardwalk because of the fluctuating level of the river bed in wet weather. Because the water would still rise above the deck level after heavy rainfall, the Council wanted to find a non slip alternative to timber.

Boardwalk installed alongside the River Colne, Huddersfield

Working with Kirklees Council, Centriforce Products Ltd installed a 200m boardwalk made entirely from recycled products. The boardwalk provides a tough, rot-free, durable and maintenance free solution. After extensive research into suitable products, it was decided that the recycled material had significant whole-life cost savings compared to conventional alternatives.
