Bassenthwaite Reflections

Location: Bassenthwaite, Cumbria

Bassenthwaite Reflections has established the Lake District's first wetlands nature reserve at Dubwath Silver Meadows. The 7.15 hectare site at the northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake is a wildlife haven for nature lovers and bird watchers and an excellent example of 'fen' habitat.

Working with the Environment Agency, Centriforce Products Ltd was selected to supply a 1500m recycled plastic boardwalk. The installation was widely supported by the Agency for use in key areas of environmental importance, as it was seen as significantly less intrusive, and much more durable than its timber counterpart.

Visitors can now enjoy a tour of the wetlands and experience the unique flora and fauna that the area has to offer.
